I disagree with the homeowner's decisions. A pistol is great for home defense, but nothing would have beaten a short barreled 12 guage shotgun. Your first home defense weapon capable of deadly force should be a shotgun. It would have cut these delinquents in half! Closed casket, Closed case! One confirmed dead in eastern New Orleans double shooting

Someone was shot and killed and another person was shot and injured this morning in eastern New Orleans, police said.
The shooting happened about 11:30 a.m. in the 7400 block of Woodbine Street, police said.

Turns out that the shootings happened at 11:30 p.m., as was reported in a more complete story a couple of hours later, and that two men were shot, one fatally, while allegedly burglarizing the home of the person that shot them. There are no less than ten comments to that story celebrating the death of the one man and bemoaning the fact that the other lived. Here are a few examples:

The resident needs additional training. A more skilled shooter would not have let a witness survive to possibly sue the victim.

Yep, It's a shame the homeowner did not kill them both sorry to say, this could possibly come back on him.
I was working in Lake Charles quite a few years ago and a man was woken in the middle of the night to find his work truck (electrician ) was being robbed, he shot both outside his home and went scott free no questions asked due to this was his lively hood and he was protecting it....GOOD DEAL !!!
Come into my home and you will not make it out to come back on me...................................
