Happy MLK Day

On a short news brief concerning festivities to celebrate Martin Luther King Day, a user expressed his disappointment with "a lot of people in the black community" for failing to live up to Dr. King's dream.

Irony of ironies:

I do not believe that a lot of people in the black community have lived up to MLK's dream or ideals. He gave his life for the advancement of his race and sadly, many, many members of his race ignored the message. Also sadly, his message was for mankind and many, many people of all races have ignored his message.
Another commenter wasn't buying it:

Stop lumping 33 million plus people in with the crimnals. Stop it. Don't be naive, there millions upon millions of Blacks(and other minorities) who living that dream well into their third and fourth generations.
Of course we want the violence to stop but their was plenty of violence doing his time. It very childish to suddenly think SPEECHES are going end all of the worlds ill. How about some economic development, locally own business, schools which educate, reduction in outsourcing jobs over seas, ending over incaration, extending school days, playgrounds, liberal art development, etc.
