Homophobic Slur

There is a very active thread, about 60 comments in about five hours, on an AP story about Sarah Palin's response to the recent murders in Arizona on NOLA.com.

I thought that it was worth posting two comments, the second of which sums up the frustration that many NOLA.com readers feel with the comments and NOLA.com's lack of moderation:

She has made a career out of saying incredibly ignorant things, bold face lies and playing the victim. If you can't see that, then I don't think you can accuse anyone of being 'mentally weak.'
And your gay reference is truly disgusting, but I'm sure nola.com will allow your hate-filled rant to remain on it's site. So don't worry your pretty little bigoted mind about that.

 I wonder if NOLA.com has a formal policy about what slurs are permissible or impermissible?
